ArtieCarpenter.com US ROTAX Nationals Review

(September 25th, 2009 - St. Louis, MO) -- The 2009 ROTAX Nationals are now history and we are semi-pleased with the results. Saturday began on a great note as Artie was third fastest in the morning practice session seeing his fastest times of the event. Knowing that there would be a wreck in turn 1 Artie knew he had to keep to the inside on the start and sure enough a huge wreck and Artie put his kart to the inside and rode the curb and looked to be cleared when 1 of the karts rolled in front of him and blocked him. The karts finally cleared but Artie went from 23 to near the very tail of the 34 kart field. After some hard driving Artie made it back to 16th, far from where we should have been but much better than where we could have been. So with minor adjustments it was on to the 27 lap main event for all the marbles from over 7 days of work.

Artie would start from the 16th position and as you looked ahead and behind there was a ton of karts in both directions. the green flew and once again a wreck in turn 1 but this time Artie was able to clear the wreck and after passing a few more karts was in a solid 7th place. As we stood on the fence and watched the snake of fast Jr karts make its way through the infield the ARROW team moaned as Artie was taken out by a less than smart move New Jersey driver Shawn Sharkey. Both Artie and Sharkey were freight trained by most of the karts behind them so again Artie was left only to try to salvage a few spots and bring home kart in one piece. After 27 laps of driving had he was able to make it back to 17th and thats were he finished.

Overall the ARROW team was very pleased with Artie's drive and Artie was the top finishing ARROW in the Jr class,  Artie was 3rd fastest on Sunday mornings practice session in a field of very elite drivers, BTK Motorsports Team ARROW runs first class race team and were of great help helping Artie's tuner, Doug Sharp, in setting up a kart completely foreign to Artie and Doug's race prepped ROTAX was as strong as any kart in the field. Artie would like to thank all those who helped get him back to Oklahoma to race because with them it would not have been possible.

Artie Carpenter would like to thank his partners for their continued support of his racing career. Thanks to Kart Sport Northwest, Kartel Motorsports, Grand Products, Top-Kart,  Doug Sharp at MMS Racing Engines, and WaltersWebDesign.com.
